Work Party at the Luces

We are working at ‘The Luces’, to bring it back to some of its former glory, transforming it into a sustainably managed communal wildlife garden with wildflowers, fruit trees and beds of edibles, and a publicly accessible footpath that allows pedestrians to avoid the narrowest part of Hillside and engage with nature, learn about rural skills and food production and enjoy a peaceful place to stop, sit, rest and contemplate. To do all this, the Luces Project group needs some help. On this occasion, we will be clearing brambles and removing more of the waste to take for recyling. The waste includes sheets of glass and other potentially hazardous objects, so please bring protective gloves and join us to go through a safety briefing before starting. Although it is outdoor we will nevertheless be doing Lateral Flow Tests before we come and would encourage other volunteers to do the same.
