Volunteer work with the Steepers at The Luces – POSTPONED DUE TO BIRDS NESTING

Sunday 13 March 2022: Help a new South Brent community and nature space to flourish – Volunteer work at The Luces from 10am-3pm. Sustainable South Brent’s ‘Luces’ project on Hillside (see https://ssb.org.uk/projects/the-luces/) is being worked on to bring it back to some of its former glory, transforming it into a sustainably managed communal wildlife space with wildflowers, fruit trees and beds of edibles, and a publicly accessible footpath that allows pedestrians to avoid the narrowest part of Hillside, engage with nature, learn about rural skills and food production and enjoy a peaceful place to stop, sit, rest and contemplate. On this occasion, there’s an opportunity to work with SSB’s Steepers on maintaining and developing the site sustainably. As always, newcomers are welcome! Training, tools and equipment are provided.
