The South Brent Repair Cafe first opened its doors in July 2024 at South Brent Old School Community Centre.
What is a Repair Cafe?
People bring along household items (max 2 per person) that need a bit of TLC, for our fantastic team of volunteer repairers to give them a new lease of life. All for free, although any donations are gratefully accepted.
Items accepted include: electrical; jewellery; bikes; clothing; computers/IT; tools; furniture; toys; knife and tool sharpening; leather and upholstery.
And the (literal) icing on the cake is that you can enjoy a cuppa and a slice while waiting for your repair.
It’s very satisfying to be able to save something from landfill, as well as putting big smiles on the faces of the appreciative owners.
We run the Repair Cafe on the second Saturday morning of January, March, May, July, and September plus the first Sunday in November.
We have a big friendly team of volunteers, so they only need to sign up for sessions they want to.
– have repair skills to share or willing to learn

– are good with social media

– enjoy baking
