Community Food Project
Short of time? Money? Ideas?
Overwhelmed by all the ‘healthy eating’ messages? OR
Got a passion for food, cooking, eating and want to volunteer?
The Food@SB project is here to ease stress around food shopping, cooking and eating. We do this in three ways:
1 Building confidence and budget cooking skills through informal, hands on cook and eat workshops for those families of primary school age children who are temporarily or permanently finding life extra challenging.
2 Organising social eating events where all in South Brent (SB) can come together to share food, swap recipes and enjoy meeting new people.
3 Exploring food stories – from where has your food travelled to arrive in South Brent?
So whatever your passion around food, eating, cooking or story telling, please get in touch.
We have recruited 5 volunteers with a passion for food and we are looking for more to support the workshops, events and story activities.
Karin Jordan is the Food@SB worker (part-time) and keen to hear from you whatever your interest.
Food@SB is funded by the Awards for All England, part of The Big Lottery Fund, plus lots of volunteer hours.
