Temperate Rainforest as seen from South Brent

4 December @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm GMT

Thursday 4 December 2025: Temperate rainforest as seen from South Brent:

The second talk in SSB’s new Nature series is by Tim Ferry of local charity, Moor Trees at 7.30pm in the Old School Community Centre.

Have you heard of temperate (not tropical) rainforest? Tim will explain what temperate rainforest is and why it’s internationally, nationally and locally precious.  The talk will focus on what is being done and can be done on Dartmoor generally and in the upper Erme and Avon catchments in particular to expand this fragile and until recently little-known habitat.  It will cover why this can sometimes be difficult but also highlight real causes for optimism.

Refreshments available. Donations help us do more!
