Screening of “The People’s Emergency Briefing”
Sunday 5 July 2026: The People’s Emergency Briefing’
in the Village Hall from 5-7pm.
Screening of an eye-opening, must see, film featuring Chris Packham and ten leading UK scientists and experts presenting clear, evidence-based insights on the growing risks to our weather, food, health and cost of living.
The 50-minute film will be followed by an optional, facilitated, open discussion – a chance to voice how we think and feel about it all. The first step in an urgent, large-scale campaign to build an irresistible call for a national televised briefing, so every household hears the same evidence.
Background: Last November in Westminster, ten of the UK’s leading experts briefed an invited audience of over 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media. The event was covered by ITV, C4, and the Times. It set out the implications of changing climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy.
Our MP Caroline Voaden and South Hams District Council both fully support this campaign.

“This film isn’t designed to sow fear. It’s about hope. It’s about knowledge as power. The opportunity for grown-up conversations. So our political leaders can no longer pretend it’s business as usual, bow to industry lobbyists and kick the can on decisions that affect our very survival through this decade and beyond.” – Sarah Daly.
For age 16 or over only.
