A Community Fridge is a well located space where donations of surplus food can be made and be available for anyone to collect and use free of charge. Donations could be made from individuals, local food businesses and producers, allotments and gardens. If successful this could reduce food waste, food miles and encourage community support for healthy diets.
Having been inspired by the successful Community Fridge in Ashburton, a group in South Brent is discussing the possibility of having something similar here. If you are interested and would like to become involved in organizing, or helping once established, or offering support in any way, please come along to the Old School Community Centre on Tuesday 10 May 2022 from 7.30 – 9.00pm to meet Inga Page, who will share her experience of setting up and running the Ashburton Community Fridge
We very much look forward to seeing you at the meeting, however, if you are unable to come along on 10 May, but would like to be involved then please contact: Nick Cape – nickcape54@gmail.com or Penny Wainwright – food@ssb.org.uk.
