Volunteer Work Party to help dig out Invasive American Skunk-Cabbage

6 April, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm BST

Wednesday 6 April 2022: Dartmoor Invasive Species Project – Volunteer Work Party: Just when we thought it was time to wash off the muddy overalls there is another request for recruits to help dig out American Skunk-Cabbage in the Badworthy bog garden, South Brent. Work with ecologist Mervyn Newman and Dartmoor Ranger Ella Briens on this interesting project which has now been running for three years, following Mervyn’s survey for Dartmoor National Park to help plan for the control of invasive alien species. Ella says “It will be muddy yet worthy work and if you are able to share it that would be brilliant! We will be finishing by 3pm, but any help at all (a couple of hours in the morning) will be very much appreciated. Bring food and drink and dress for boggy Dartmoor – we will of course have some goodies to munch on at tea break time! If anyone can join us then please email me directly ebriens@dartmoor.gov.uk and I will send on more details of time and place.”
