SSB’s Marsh composting site will remain open on Sunday mornings from 10am-1pm for garden waste deliveries throughout lockdown as long as sufficient volunteers are available . During lockdown: Social distancing must be observed on the site therefore minimal help can be offered for unloading garden waste or loading compost. The 'Steeper’s are a lively group of SSB volunteers who are in their ninth year of hedge laying and collecting wood for fuel. The group will be coppicing 25 year old trees, at Penstave Copse, to let more daylight get to the woodland floor. This will encourage natural regeneration of trees, and wildflowers, with benefits for insects, small mammals, and birds.
