SUMMARY:Tree Charter Festival Day and 'Meet Beech'
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 28 November 2020: Tree Charter Festival Day from 12.30 – 5pm. Join the Woodland Trust and the Tree Charter for Tree Charter Day\, held on the last Saturday of November – the biggest virtual celebration of woods and trees the UK has ever seen! This year to celebrate the third anniversary of the launch of the Tree Charter they are hosting an on-line festival at STREAM PARK\, an interactive digital park. There will be fantastic artwork\, music\, dance throughout the day\, and even a circus performance in the woods to look forward too! Plus live webinars and talks on the impact of Climate Change\, diversity in the environmental movement\, youth engagement\, working with your local tree officer\, and the 2021 local elections: \n12.30pm: Tracking the effects of weather and climate on the UKs trees and wildlife \n1.30pm: How to protect urban trees in your community; \n2.15pm: Meet and greet in the woods \n3.45pm: the cultural meaning behind trees \n4.30pm:Fight for a greener policy during the local elections \nThe event will host Zoom ‘meet and greets’ for each region to help you connect with others and gain inspiration about what you could do for your community. Click here to see the programme poster and Click here to book your free tickets; – after booking you will be emailed your tickets and a password to enable you to access the festival website. \n‘Meet Beech’ hosted by Sap Rising: The event is also a chance to showcase the work Tree Charter Branches across the UK have been doing over the past three years. Local Devon Charter branch Sap Rising is a collective of four women: Emma Capper is a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide; Beth Heaney is an arts practitioner\, educator and researcher in all things drawn; Myrtle Cooper is a professional forager and wild food educator; and Sarah Gray is a somatic movement and yoga teacher. They are excited to be a part of the online festival and are offering ‘Meet Beech’ – 4 audio experiences for individuals or small groups to walk\, stand\, breathe\, connect\, and fall in love with Beech trees for wellbeing and inspiration. The audios they have created are available from that day and for the following week\, to be downloaded from the on-line festival website to take outside with you at your pleasure and convenience. The intention is to engage more fully in our local natural environment\, specifically with Beech trees. See: https://www.facebook.com/events/191715452512515/. \n \n  \n(This is not an SSB event)
