SUMMARY:The Steepers - Hedgelaying & Coppicing in Penstave Copse
DESCRIPTION:Sustainable South Brent’s Hedges and Woodland Group – The ‘Steepers’ \nWe undertake conservation projects like hedge laying and woodland coppicing\, as well as harvesting wood fuel\, in and around South Brent. We enjoy the traditional skills and satisfaction of working outdoors together\, while doing our bit to maintain diverse and healthy wildlife habitats. Our practical site work takes place fortnightly during the cutting season in autumn and winter to avoid disturbance to wildlife\, while in the summer we have a wider programme of walks\, visits\, firewood processing\, tool maintenance and outreach work. The Wood Fair organising group has taken the difficult decision to postpone the third South Brent Wood Fair planned for the 5th September and not to run it this year.
